Preschool Program

Yankalilla Community Children’s Centre offers two years of teacher-led, play-based preschool for eligible children. Our Flying Start three-year-old program builds confidence, language, curiosity and relationships; the four-year-old program then strengthens these foundations and supports a smooth transition to school. Children learn in an inclusive environment, with families as active partners in their learning.

Four year old preschool

Children can access 15 hours of preschool each week during the year before they start school. The program builds on earlier learning and supports children to feel confident and ready for Reception.

Sessions are generally held from 9.00am to 3.00pm, with two sessions in odd weeks and three sessions in even weeks. We will confirm your child’s days after enrolment. The delivery model may vary depending on enrolments.

Fee: $100 per term.

Three year old preschool – Flying Start

Yankalilla Community Children’s Centre is a Flying Start partner, giving eligible children access to high-quality preschool from age three and up to eight terms of preschool before they begin school.

The teacher-led, play-based program supports language, curiosity, friendships, physical development and a strong sense of culture and belonging. Children receive 15 hours each week alongside our four-year-old preschool program.

Session fee: $100 per day (8.30am to 4.00pm), less any Child Care Subsidy entitlement. Because sessions are delivered through long day care, families can use longer days when needed.

When your child can start three year old preschool
