Childcare

Childcare Program

Yankalilla Community Children’s Centre provides community-based long day care for children aged six weeks to school age. Our educators create safe, inclusive, play-based environments where every child is known, supported and encouraged to learn at their own pace. Families are valued partners in their child’s care and learning.

Play-based learning and care

Our program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. Through child-led play, group experiences, outdoor learning and intentional teaching, children build communication, early literacy and numeracy, social and emotional skills, and wellbeing.

Each child is supported by a primary educator who develops a secure relationship with them and works closely with their family. Daily routines include active play, group experiences, meals, rest and relaxation.

Enrolment and Child Care Subsidy

Child Care Subsidy may help eligible families with the cost of care. Before starting, families must provide a completed enrolment form, a current Australian Immunisation History Statement, any relevant medical plans and a signed Complying Written Agreement.

We will also arrange an information-sharing conversation and a settling visit. Families must confirm their child’s enrolment with Centrelink through MyGov before care begins. For booking and fee information, visit our Enrolment & Fees page.
